Dear Supporter,
I am Rhodesia J. Douglas, a candidate for the seat in the Louisiana State Representative District 93. This is a new day in the political landscape of Louisiana. Citizens are seeking new leaders to enter the arena with new thinking, new ideas and a fresher perspective.
Running for this office is only a natural progression in my lifelong work to improve the quality of life not only for my family, but for all citizens. As a wife, mother of four children and business owner, I have been engaged in the fight to improve the quality of life in the community on many fronts – insurance, education and small businesses.
My husband and I are committed to our City and want our children to grow up here in a City that is safe, clean and prosperous with more private-sector business and job opportunities. I am not willing to leave this job in the hands of our current elected officials. Over the years, I have been an active contributor to neighborhood associations and organizations including New Orleans Neighborhood Police Anti-Crime Council (NONPACC) and youth groups such as The Beautiful Foundation. I have enjoyed working for positive change in our community.
This year my family and I were a vital part of the Louisiana delegation that successfully lobbied the U.S. Congress in Washington, D.C. to reauthorize $50 billion over five years to the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP). The Louisiana LACHIP program covers 101,641 children. In closing, I am asking you to join in our fight to improve our community by voting to put me in the office of State Representative District 93 and doing whatever you can in this effort such as donating and/or volunteering in this campaign.
I appreciate your consideration and your generosity.
Sincerely,
Rhodesia J. Douglas
Candidate for the State House of Representatives, District 93
